My eight year old son’s “wish list” for the holidays includes an iPod touch, a Nintendo DSI, and a computer. His older brother’s list is pretty similar except that it also includes a cell phone. I like to think of myself as a “modern mom”, but come on…this is crazy (and I’m not just talking about the…Continue

Chanukah is the one time of year we allow candles in our home. Our family gathers together for eight consecutive nights and celebrates the time honored tradition of lighting the menorah. It’s a beautiful sight to watch the colorful candles burning each night.

See that picture with the broken, front, adult tooth? That’s my son! Just minutes before that was taken he had a beautiful set of intact teeth. Well...not anymore.
Yesterday, we learned first hand what happens to your teeth when you play "touch" football with your brother without a mouthguard! Somehow, my two boys collided while chasing each other around the yard, and the end result was not…Continue

It could happen to me and it could happen to you. It could happen to anyone. It could happen to a nurse, grandparent, teacher, professional athlete, social worker, banker, store clerk, stay at home parent, secretary, nanny, doctor, or lawyer.
I’m talking about the terribly unfortunate death of a child/infant from hyperthermia (extreme elevation in body temperature) involving a vehicle. The three most common ways this happens are: 1. a distracted…Continue
